Armani Iacolucci Appointed as TSER Program Director

August 2020

For immediate release

Trans Student Educational Resources is a youth-led organization dedicated to transforming the educational environment for trans and gender non-conforming students through advocacy and empowerment. Founded in 2011, it is the only national organization led by trans youth.

TSER has appointed Armani Iacolucci, the former board chair, as Program Director. Armani has spent six years working with organizations and youth movements to provide education, leadership, and resources to communities across the country. For the past four years, Armani has been at the helm of ensuring trans youth of color are at the forefront of TSER’s leadership.

Armani started her work at TSER as a fellow for the Trans Youth Leadership Summit. She went on to volunteer, supervise, and organize events as a board member. In 2018, she hosted the organization’s first ever Trans Justice Awards, which celebrated transgender accomplishments around the country. Since her teenage years, Armani has led rallies, provided speeches at protests and vigils, co-hosted seminars at universities, and led crowds during Black Lives Matter marches.

Armani added, “I look forward to building a strong team at TSER as we continue to grow. I’m thrilled to take part in our community’s legacy of fostering young leaders. This is a historic moment to uplift trans people of color in activism.”

As program director, Armani will oversee day-to-day operations of TSER. She is the first Black trans woman to lead the organization. Armani’s experience will undoubtedly transform the organization and help it support trans youth more than ever.
